Inhibitory action of Spondias mombin leaves extracts on corrosion of mild steel in 1M HCl

Acid corrosion of steel and its associated financial material costs are serious challenges to the chemical industry, protecting these alloys through use effective inhibitors is imperative. In this study, inhibition mild in 1M HCl media using water ethanol extracts Spondias mombin leaves was investigated via weight loss technique, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) potentiodynamic polarization (PDP). The influence temperature on inhibitor behaviour also studied. Both inhibited adsorption, following Langmuir Freundlich isotherms. efficiency (IE) increased as concentration increased. After 24 72 hours exposure acid solution at 25 ℃, 500 ppm delivered maximum (94.44 % 76.52% for ethanol) (51.52 58,97 water). However, increasing 40 ℃ 60 (after hours) significantly boosted extract (favoring combined physical adsorption) but depreciated performance extract. provide good protection acidic environment therefore recommended green alternatives existing toxic ones.
